Step 1: Examine the signal
The signal may be too weak for the car to respond.
- To check if the device is sending a strong signal to the car, press the unlock or alarm button on the remote control.
- Since proximity is important, move closer to the car to see if the remote is generating signal strength.
- If the signal is not detected, replace the battery.
- Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the back of the key fob and replace the battery per the manufacturer's instructions. Before you put the key fob back in place, make sure the positive side is facing up.
- If the signal is working properly, the door will lock, unlock or alarm as indicated.

Step 2: To reset the remote, enter programming mode.
